In Microsoft Word:

Press Ctrl + Shift + ~ (tilde), then release the keys and type N (or shift+N for uppercase). 

 

Numeric Keypad:

Hold down the Alt key, then press 0241 on the numeric keypad.

Press Ctrl + Shift + ~ (tilde), then release the keys and type N (or shift+N for uppercase)

 

Mac:

 Press and hold the Option key, then type N, then release the Option key.
